Peel Street Wrexham – the sheer stupidity of Mark Drakeford and the woke Welsh political and media class

The Welsh Government has found £170,000, in these times of austerity, to spunk on a report into statues, buildings, and street names that are linked to slavery or are racist in other ways. Naturally, folks like Sir Francis Drake, Nelson and Wellington are all in the firing line because their tangential or fairly minor connections to the slave trade must completely overshadow matters such as saving the nation from invasion and foreign domination. But it is my local town of Wrexham which shows up the monumental stupidity of this exercise, masterminded by the certifiably insane first minister Mark Drakeford and rubber stamped by the grossly overpaid pygmies of the Sennedd, in greatest detail.

The False Lesbianisation of our history is just getting boring: from Queen Anne to Mary Anning

My friend and journalistic hero Kelvin Mackenzie once said something along the lines of “you sell newspapers by putting lesbians on the front page.” I asked him today if this was a true quote and he said that he could not remember but it is the sort of thing he would have said on his glory days on the Currant Bun. But perhaps you can have too much of a good thing, especially when the lesbians you are outing are a) dead and b) not lesbians.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Am I a nicer and more sociable guy than Luke Johnson and has Boohoo boobed in Leicester

I start with a look at Boohoo (BOO) shares in which a falling on back of reports in a paper founded on profits from the slave trade that suppliers in Leicester are using slave labour. Then I ask if Luke Johnson or I am more sociable and what this means about folks stopping working from home. Then onto gold stocks in general, Hummingbird (HUM), Kefi (KEFI), Red Rock Resources (RRR) and Ariana (AAU). I look at Amigo (AMGO) , Attis Oil (AOGL) and finally why today’s shocking Versarien (VRS) expose really could indicate a major scandal. Footnote:

London Mayor Sadiq Khan again rewrites history of the slave trade

Mayor Khan says that thanks to Covid and the wicked Tories front line services in London are threatened by a funding crisis. So natch, what do you do about it but organise a virtual conference on the slave trade and looking at what it means for today’s society. This sort of thing might appeal to a few middle class intellectuals but I suspect that most ordinary Londoners, black or white, would rather have the cash spent on those threatened front line services. But it gets far worse because evil Sadiq is once again rewriting history as is his wont.
